Who is Sonia Rykiel ?
In May 1968, Sonia Rykiel, a young girl with flamboyant hair and an audacious sense of independence shaped a style for liberated women. She emphasised a woman’s silhouette rather than trying to hide it, with her fitted designs and distinctive stripes earning her the title as the“Queen of knitwear”by Women’s Wear Daily magazine. Since the opening of her first shop on the Left Bank of the Seine, women in Paris and the world over have wanted to be a part of her collection.
